A program dedicated to the development of adolescents boys and young men
Mentor Healthcare was born through our founder’s passion for supporting underprivileged young males, in need of positive male role models. Our founder, Ala Mobedi, was himself a poor refugee without a father, so he knows the unique needs of struggling young boys. Since then, Mentor Healthcare has grown to serve all genders and all ages, but maintains a team of younger male mentors who are passionate about developing young men.
We designed the Mentoring All Men Program to develop boys and young men with disabilities, as they navigate a tricky time of life. The program focuses on building skills, resilience, independence and fitness as a way for young males to manage their disabilities, and set themselves up for a full and fulfilling life.

How does the Mentoring All Men Program work?
Program
The program is intended to match young males with positive male role models, who share particular interests or skills – whether it is playing soccer, mastering maths homework, learning to do chores, or improving social skills. You’ll work with a mentor role model until you achieve your goal. After a period of influence from one mentor (which can be anything from 5 weeks to 5 years), we’ll introduce you to another suitable mentor who can focus you on the next phase of development and teach you new skills. We believe that the variety of influence is beneficial to the development of rounded, broadly skilled young men.
Mentor Matching
We have over 50 mentors across Adelaide, each with unique skill sets. You could learn to box with Stephen (an amateur boxer), bachata dance with Angus (a dancer, musician and mechanic), learn to weld with Athan (a qualified boilermaker) or do maths homework with Yohann (an engineering student and tutor) – whatever your goals, we will bend over backwards to find the right mentor for you.
Progress Tracking and Reporting
We will periodically meet with you and your guardian to discuss your progress and ensure the program is meeting your needs. Together, we’ll decide when the time is right to step up to another goal or skill, and match you with an appropriate mentor.
Ongoing
Many of our clients find mentors that just click. We are thrilled when this happens, and happy to accommodate an ongoing relationship. This doesn’t mean you need to exit the Mentoring All Men Program – many clients work 1-2 days per week with their ongoing mentor, and 1 day a week with a rotating mentor so they can learn new skills while maintaining their valuable relationship.
